So, now you are an independent Music act with top quality unique demos, a thread of media clips, an extremely presentable demo kit and an ever-growing fan-base. Now all you need to do is connect with the right Music contacts in the music industry and you should be on your way!
There are a plethora of options available to musicians in the music industry that were never there before. The Internet can't be overlooked and any independent music artist without a website would be looked on as very unusual. A website will create the issue of how much of your music you offer for free and in which format you should offer it. If you can afford to record your music to you have the option to create and market your own albums through shows, websites, independent music distribution and mail order.
Licensing is another option you can choose. This is where you allow a label to manufacture and promote your recordings in a certain country or countries in return for a slice of pie. Did you know that a lot of labels only release licensed music? They may do this because it is easier than signing a bunch of bands. Licensing is a worldwide business and it's possible to have a different local company promoting your recordings in various countries around the world. If you decide you want to sign with music contacts such as a record label, manager or publisher they will be providing you with a loan to finance your career. A lot of independent Music Artists don't want to go this route because they believe they may lose a lot of their freedom in performance. Record labels come in two levels Major and Indie. Major will be a larger corporation and an Independent music Label can be anything from a large company to a one man show! An independent music label may be a great route for a first time deal. There may always be the opportunity to go larger in the future.
Find yourself a way to reach music contacts such as labels, managers, publishers or license brokers. You can speak with them and find out if they are in a position to take on new projects. The music industry is filled with thousands of people so you want to approach the right person at the right company with just what they are looking for so do your research.

Writing lyrics. . . HELP!! Can my dream come true? Would you do this if you was me?
How is easy it to get into the music industry? Right. . . Basically i have a intrest in writing lyrics/poems. I have wrote some lyrics/poems about real life story, basically something that happened that destroyed my family. I am asian (Sikh) and i want to to write lyrics for new up coming singers or write for someone within a record label e.g. Rishi rich productions but i have no contacts to do this. The lyrics are written in English but i can translate it into Punjabi (my second language) I want to write lyrics for a artist that sing not exactly sad songs but meaningful. How do i go about doing this? What is my next step after writing a few song lyrics? Is this even possible or am i living in a fantasy world??
Please help me. . . i really want to do this.

Well there is this girl who writes songs aswell, she is not really famous but many singers sing her lyrics
i think you got a chance, i think you should get in contact with someone who is in the industry on go on to a website and they will give you the information you need
